All rooms at Bloomsbury Palace Hotel have been updated with a modern new look, just in time for 2025. Here’s what you can expect from your stay.

We’re excited to share that we’ve just wrapped up a full refurbishment at Bloomsbury Palace Hotel, and every single room now has a fresh, contemporary feel. The work finished on 31st December 2025, which means you’ll be among the first guests to experience the newly refreshed space.

This wasn’t just a quick touch-up – we’ve carefully redesigned the entire hotel to give you a better stay, while keeping what makes Bloomsbury Palace special. It’s been a significant project, and we’re proud of how it’s turned out.

What’s Changed?

The whole hotel has been transformed with a modern, calming colour scheme. We’ve chosen sophisticated greens, blues and warm gold accents that create a relaxing atmosphere after a busy day exploring London. The palette was carefully selected to feel both contemporary and timeless – colours that won’t date quickly but give the rooms a real lift.

It’s a clean, welcoming look that feels both stylish and comfortable. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, you’ll have a space that helps you unwind.

But here’s what we’re really proud of: we’ve taken extra care to showcase the building’s beautiful heritage features. The original fireplaces and historic design details that give this hotel its character are now highlighted as key features in each room. These aren’t replicas – they’re the genuine period features that have been part of this building for years, and we wanted to make sure they got the attention they deserve.

(Quick note: the fireplaces themselves are blocked off due to London smoke laws, so they’re decorative rather than functional. But they add real charm and character that you won’t find in modern builds.)

The refurbishment also gave us the chance to upgrade everything behind the scenes. We’ve improved the lighting throughout, making rooms brighter and more comfortable to work or relax in. The furnishings have been completely refreshed, with new beds, updated storage solutions, and better-quality fixtures that’ll stand the test of time.

We’ve also made sure every room has the modern amenities you need for a smooth London stay. You’ll get comfortable beds with quality linens, reliable Wi-Fi so you can stay connected, and all the essentials for your trip. It’s the best of both worlds – historic character meets modern comfort, without any of the compromises.

Room Options to Suit Your Trip

We’ve got five thoughtfully designed room types to choose from, each one refurbished to the same high standard:

Small Single – Perfect for solo travellers who want great value in central London. Yes, the rooms are compact, but you’re paying for an unbeatable location and a comfortable base. If you’re spending most of your time exploring the city, this is a smart, budget-friendly choice.

Single – A bit more space for business trips or longer stays. You’ll have room to spread out your laptop.

Queen Double – Ideal for couples visiting the city. These rooms give you enough space to relax together without feeling cramped, and the updated interiors make them a pleasant place to return to after a day out.

Double – Comfortable rooms for two with a bit more breathing room. Great if you’re staying for several nights or prefer a little extra space.

Triple – Perfect for small families or groups of friends. These rooms can accommodate three guests comfortably, making them a cost-effective option for groups visiting London together.

Whatever you’ve got planned for your London trip, we’ve got a room that works for your needs and your budget. And with the refurbishment complete, you know you’re getting a fresh, well-maintained space.

Why Bloomsbury?

Location matters when you’re visiting London, and Bloomsbury Palace Hotel puts you right where you need to be. You’re in one of London’s most interesting neighbourhoods, surrounded by culture, history and excellent transport links.

Bloomsbury has always been known for its literary and academic heritage – it’s home to the British Museum, the University of London, and countless historic squares and gardens. It’s got a different feel to the busier tourist areas, with tree-lined streets, independent bookshops, and a real neighbourhood atmosphere.

The British Museum is just a short walk away – perfect for a morning visit before the crowds arrive. You can easily spend a few hours exploring the collections, then grab lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants nearby.

The West End theatres, Covent Garden shops and restaurants, and Oxford Street and Soho are all within easy reach. You’re close enough to walk if you fancy it, or it’s just a quick Tube ride. Tottenham Court Road station is nearby, giving you quick access to the rest of London via the Central and Northern lines.

If you’re here for work, you’ll find it easy to get to the City, King’s Cross, or Canary Wharf. The transport connections mean you’re never far from where you need to be, but you get to stay in a more relaxed, characterful part of town.

Whether you’re here for work meetings in the City, theatre trips in the West End, or exploring London’s museums and galleries, you’ll save time (and money) on transport by staying central. That’s more time enjoying London, less time on the Tube.

The Crown Group Difference

This refurbishment is part of our ongoing commitment to giving you comfortable, well-located stays without the premium price tag. We know London accommodation can be expensive, especially in prime locations. That’s why we focus on what really matters: a clean, comfortable room in the heart of the city, with helpful staff who know the area.

We’re honest about what we offer. Our rooms are thoughtfully designed to make the most of the space, and they’ll be spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and in locations that save you time and hassle. We’d rather invest in keeping our properties in great condition and our prices fair than add luxury extras that most guests don’t need.

Our team at Bloomsbury Palace Hotel know the area inside out. Need restaurant recommendations? Want to know the quickest way to get somewhere? Not sure which museum to visit? Just ask. We’re here to help make your London trip easier, not just to check you in and out.

That approach is what Crown Group is all about across all our London hotels. Whether you choose Bloomsbury Palace or one of our other properties, you’ll get the same focus on location, value, and helpful service.
